I feel like... Green Smoothie tonight!

Nevermind the old adverts for "I feel like Chicken Tonight"..I feel like awesome green smoothie tonight!!

I will let the pictures do the talking..

Yum!

Pinapple(just under 200g), greens, aloe vera,1 lime ..fresh mint from my new mint plant!!

Been feeling tired and queasy today so eating simply and to get maximum nutrients!! Had some strawberries earlier, water, suntea. Very uneasy stomach so taking it easy, simple and lovely. Has been a winter vomiting bug going about here, I dont want to get it, so keeping my food simple right now at the first sign of a uneasy stomach.

Feeling so much better after a big glass of green goodness!

Picked up some lovely ripe Pineapples on the way home, I am loving them so much right now. Mmmmm...yum!

Late night pondering...Fruit Kebabs and......Donut Revolution..!!

After all that uncooking.. I didnt fancy my lovely ice cream.... into the freezer it goes... soo I had fruit kebabs..yummy..fresh and juicy!

They certainly made me smile!!

Shannon marie as always has got me salivating.. creative raw-queen has got me in the mood for donut madness!!

If you havent been to Rawdorable..get your butt over there!!

...so I took what I had in the fridge and gave it a go!! ..Note to self..starting making something at 10pm..BAD IDEA!! lol.. but fun!

Put into mine

100g soaked sesame seed
100g soaked dates, by eye about 10-15 dates

Processed

added

1 cup Coconut

Rolled in carob/sesame flour/coconut

Into the D

here they are before going in..

And here they are this morning... mmm.. smell lovely!!

Raw Knicker Bocker Glory..

Yes that British Tradition..but raw-some!!

First for the ice cream!

Make a plain base to start – This is simple, meant to be 8-1-1 friendly. So not adding a tonne of nuts. If you want something a bit creamier—add a young coconut meat to the blend. I didn’t have one handy.

2 Frozen Banana – allow to thaw for 10 minutes

Blend this with 2 ripe Banana, a drop of water—just enough to get that “Mr Whippy” creamy look. Blend well until it looks super smooth and silky.

Pour out half your mixture, place this into the freezer.

2nd Ice Cream

With the other remaining half in the blender

I added 5 large strawberries, or there abouts

Blended again

Poured out—back into freezer

For chocolate variant—you could add carob, raw cacao or some grated cacao butter.

Mint-- add in some fresh ment

Ginger would be lovely also

Again you could have any fruit you wanted.

I froze it again for 1 hour, whisking it with a mini whisk every 15 minutes to keep it super fluffy!
To make the Sauce

There was about ½ Cup of the Strawberry base left.

Added to that a couple of teaspoons of date puree (had it in my fridge in a container—just blended dates, lovely and dark and fudgey tasting)

Blended this with Carob to taste and enough water to get it mixing.

Poured out, lovely and dark, rich and toffee tasting!

With the banana it really thickened up as you can see, its like a thick pudding texture

Then just the presentation, place as you like into a Knicker Bocker Glory glass, you could add shavings of mature coconut, goji berries, cherries on top.. whatever you fancy! Enjoy!

Apricot sesame cookies..

Apricot Sesame cookies

Soaked 200g Apricots—dried

For about an hour, you could do for longer.

Blended, with as little water necessary—I left some chunks in for a bit of bite, along with the puree.

Then poured the puree out, with the chunks. Stirred in 150g sunflower seeds, approx 50g coconut—was just what was left.

I then rolled the mixture into balls, flattened and coated in shredded coconut.

Voila!

Here they are, now popping them in the D for a short while. If you wanted to do it without, I would add 150g almond flour to dry them out nicely, then refrigerate.

These remind me of oatmeal/dried fruit cookies you get as a kid—they smell lovely, will report back on the taste!!

Here they are after being in the D for.. about 6-8 hours, crunchy on the outside, soft and moist inside..yummy!! Raw biscuit jar!

Next project… fruit soup..Watch this space.

Raw kitchen toys...

Okay so I have bought a few things today, for enjoyment, playtime and to bring extra joy to my creations this week!

I think presentation can really help-- sure I am happy now eating just fruits etc..but sometimes its nice to eat like a Queen--- make it a beautiful, vibrant affair..and really enjoy your meal. Rather than feeling deprived eating a solitude banana off a plate!! It isnt about deprivation, its about fun, playtime and joy..

I am not going to photo all the things, mainly as I will showcase them in action in the next few days!!

The lovely ShanonMarie... AKA .http://www.rawdorable.blogspot.com/ had some lovely looking pudding in a 50s style dish this week, so I bought a very heavy knickerbocker glory glass. Fabulous, really retro and.. just drop dead gorgeous!!!

Also got some chopping boards--glass and wooden, yes I use a plate, pizza stone or bamboo boards.. so time for something new!

Huge stainless steel mixing bowl.. can double as a fruit bowl also

Square plate with matching soup bowl-- simple but lovely. All white-- thinking of doing a fruit soup in these

Also found some weird and wonderful gadgets in the corner of a bargain shop! .. wooden scewers..long ones.. fruit kebabs!! :)

Veryyy excited about all my new purchases!! Will post again later my foods etc for the day, some photographs.

Its freezing and snowy so just having a relaxed day.

Thats all for now!

Unbaking...results

Okay so a bit of an experiment, not a very costly one considering it was all fruits, no nut butters or nuts etc..

so here it is, I was impatient, turned it out, so the base was on top, lovely vibrant pink colour-- think it would work well as a layered cake.

Anyway here it is

Thinking would work in a chocolate stack layer cake..very nicely :)
